Headspace

22 August @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

No one prepares you for adulthood

We are taught how to pass exams, build careers, and chase success—but rarely how to carry grief, navigate uncertainty, manage expectations, or figure out who we are while the world keeps moving.

Head Space: The Quiet Turbulence of Adulthood is an immersive, fine-art photography exhibition that explores this unseen emotional landscape. Through striking portraiture, a live, breathing installation, soundscapes, and performance, this exhibition invites you into a space where responsibility, ambition, isolation, and hope coexist.

Rather than just documenting individual stories, the work serves as a mirror for the collective experiences we so often navigate in silence. This is not an exhibition about having all the answers; it is about recognising the questions we all carry.

What You Can Expect

Designed as a limited 2-hour live experience, Head Space is curated to unfold as an emotional journey rather than a traditional, passive gallery visit. Attendees will move through four distinct emotional stages:

  • Arrival (Curiosity): Step into a quiet, unfamiliar environment and begin observing fragments of adulthood through raw, large-scale photographic works.
  • Confrontation (Reflection): Encounter a live, breathing installation that transforms the photographs into a physical presence. Light, sound, and performance work together to blur the boundaries between image and reality.
  • Understanding (Conversation): Join visual storyteller Iyanu Taiwo as he shares the personal concepts, cultural motifs, and emotional origins behind the collection.
  • Release (Connection): As the soundscapes soften, the space opens up for shared reflection, drinks, and conversation.
