Artwork by six mothers from the Colchester area will be on display at the Level Best Art Gallery in Level Best Enterprises in St John’s Street.
The collection of work – called ‘postpARTum’ – has been created over the course of two years during precious moments of free time while the mothers’ children slept.
This means the art work has been created with limited time and broken sleep.
The artwork includes mindful textiles, digital artwork, cyanotype and much more.
The exhibition also features the six artists’ describing their return to art after motherhood and sharing personal struggles with the changes to life once becoming a mother.
The exhibition will run from February 2 to February 26, and the gallery is open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm every weekday.
