Mayflower: Where you can see the famous steam locomotive travelling through Essex next weekend

Those looking for a quirky adventure are in luck, as a famous steam train will be rolling through the county next week.

The famous Mayflower train will be hosting a day trip through Eastern England on Saturday, August 28 – just a week after it passes through the county this weekend.

Get yourself to Chelmsford, Essex, for 7.45am to board the famous green express.

You’ll be making stops at Witham, Colchester, Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, and Ely for a journey to Lincoln.

Prices start from £109 per person in Premium Standard, where passengers are seated at tables of four, being served complimentary tea and coffee at their seats.

But if you’re feeling particularly fancy, for up to £284 per person you can choose Pullman Style Dining, where passengers will enjoy a Full English breakfast on the outward journey and a four-course dinner on the return journey.
