A gourmet kebab restaurant chain will open up a new location on an Essex high street next month.
German Doner Kebab, which already has locations in Southend-on-Sea and in Lakeside Shopping Centre, will open their first restaurant in the north of the county along the High Street in Colchester, Essex.
Overall, it will be GDK’s 61st restaurant in the UK, and is set to create 40 jobs when it opens early next month.
Daniel Bunce, GDK MD for UK and Europe, said: “We’re delighted to officially announce plans to bring the German Doner Kebab experience to Colchester.
“Our game-changing kebabs are revolutionising the kebab in the UK and we are excited to be bringing a new fast-casual experience to the area, offering great tasting fresh food in a relaxed and modern setting.”

German Doner Kebab will act as a dine-in restaurant, but also as a takeaway and delivery service shipping gourmet kebabs to Colchester residents.
Like a traditional kebab shop, the classic takeaway treat will be prepared fresh in front of customers.
But GDK will use premium ingredients in handmade toasted breads.
The Colchester location will be one of 47 new restaurants German Doner Kebab plan to open in 2021.
It will sit where Bright House used to be, before it shut down in 2019.
