Essex weather: Forecast for Chelmsford, Southend, Harlow, Colchester, Basildon and more with high UV levels expected

After a mixed start to the weekend, the weather is set to improve today. Yesterday (Saturday, April 23) saw sunny intervals mixed with quite a bit of cloud but today is looking better (Sunday, April 24).

There’s quite a bit of sunshine on its way today with some patchy cloud appearing across Essex. The UV levels across the county are pretty high, so those with sensitive skin should consider applying some sun-cream.

Next to no rain is forecast, with only a very slim chance at 10pm in Chelmsford. Across Essex the average high is around 16C but it could drop as low as 6C in many places.

Basildon

Sun all day with highs of 16C and lows of 6C. UV and pollen will both be high.

Brentwood

Much more sun with some clouds in the afternoon. Highs of 15C lows of 6C with medium UV levels.

Chelmsford

Lots of sun with highs of 16C and lows of 6C. Some cloud in the afternoon. The UV levels and pollen will be high.

Colchester

Very sunny with highs of 16C and lows of 6C. UV and Pollen levels are set to be high.

Harlow

A mixture of sun and cloud with highs of 16C and lows of 6C. Pollen will be high and UV will be medium.

Saffron Walden

Quite cloudy with lots of sunshine in the early morning and early evening. Highs of 16C, lows of 6C. UV levels will be medium, pollen will be high.

Southend

Sunny all day with no cloud forecast. Highs of 15C, lows of 7C. Pollen and UV levels will be high.

Thurrock

Warmest place in Essex with highs of 17C and lows of 6C. Mixture of sun and clouds. UV will be medium and pollen will be high.
