Blues guitarist Claude Bourbon to perform at Colchester’s Headgate Theatre

The progressive blues artist, who is known for his blend of blues, jazz, folk, classical, and Spanish guitar, will perform at 7.45am on Friday, April 17.

An internationally-touring musician, Claude has been praised for his intricate guitar work and genre-defying sound, drawing on global musical traditions.

A spokesperson for the event said: “Claude Bourbon takes you on a captivating musical journey that defies borders and genres.

“With roots in classical guitar, his music flows effortlessly through the blues of the Mississippi Delta, the warmth of the Balearic Islands, the rich traditions of the Balkans, and back again.”

Bourbon’s performances feature a mix of Spanish blues, Eastern European melodies and flamenco, with influences including Ritchie Blackmore and J.S. Bach.

He has previously performed at Glastonbury Festival, the Isle of Wight Festival, and the Colne Great British and Blues Festival.

Tickets cost £15 and are available from the theatre box office.
